Biographical Information:

Dr. DeArmond is a 1978 graduate of The University of Tennessee, Knoxville and a 1982 graduate of The University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis. He returned to his home, Cleveland, TN after graduation. He has continued his professional training under several Master Dentists, many of whom are Pankey Alumnus. His training has included general and family dentistry skills with and emphasis on more complex restorative, implant, and cosmetic treatments.

He is an active member The American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, The Academy of Operative Dentistry as well as several local and national Study Clubs. Dr. DeArmond is currently serving on the Council of The Academy of Operative Dentistry.

He has served as President of the Tennessee Board of Dentistry, Vice-President of the Conference of Southern Deans and Examiners, and is a Southern Regional Testing Agency licensing examiner. He also serves as an Advisor to the L.D. Pankey Foundation’s Board of Directors. Dr. DeArmond’s commitment to the Pankey Institute is reflected in his participation as a member of the Visiting Faculty. Dr. DeArmond is also a Past President of the Chattanooga Area Dental Society and has received the Fellowship Award from the Tennessee Dental Association for his service. He has also been honored with Fellowships in the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists.

Dr. DeArmond is surrounded by well trained, long-term team members. The three dental hygienists each have an average of 20 years of experience. His three dental assistants are also very experienced with each person having both state registration (RDA) and national certification (DNBA-CDA). The administrative team members are prepared to help with scheduling and coordinating patient care. Each of the team members is prepared to greet and assist patients with a "guest in our home" commitment.

Patients visiting Dr. DeArmond's office should expect a very complete examination. Ample time is provided to allow patients to become acquainted with the doctor and to explore each individual's unique concerns. The goal of the examination is to begin the development of a personal relationship and to develop an appropriate treatment plan that will result in excellent oral health for each individual patient.

Dr. DeArmond has excellent working relationships with a compliment of dental specialists. Through coordinated treatment planning, even the most complicated patient needs can be met with confidence that all avenues have been explored, and the best treatment has been determined for each patient.

Dr. DeArmond has been active in his community serving as an assistant scoutmaster with Troop 10 and serving on the Cleveland YMCA Endowment Committee, and later as President of the Cleveland Family YMCA Board of Directors following its merger with Chattanooga Metro-YMCA. Dr. DeArmond is also a member of the Cleveland Rotary Club.  Dr. DeArmond is an avid golfer and fly fisherman. He and his wife, Denise attend Broad Street United Methodist Church. They have a nine-year-old Golden Retriever, Josie, who keeps their home well entertained.
