Biographical Information:
Dr. Barbara McClatchie has a passion for excellence in all aspects of dentistry. A native of the Toledo area, she graduated from The Ohio State University in 1978, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and state certification in both dental hygiene and expanded duties, which allowed her to place fillings and ultimately fueled her desire to become a dentist. After earning her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Ohio State in 1986, Dr. McClatchie completed the highly respected General Practice Residency program at the OSU Hospital and embarked on her dream career in dentistry.

That same passion which drove her to dentistry has continued to influence Dr. McClatchie’s career, and benefit her patients. Always wanting to grow professionally and improve her capabilities, she completed all six continuums of continuing education at the prestigious and world-renowned Pankey Institute of Advanced Education in Key Biscayne, Florida, earning her recognition as a Pankey Scholar, which is representative of the highest level of care, skill and judgment attainable in dentistry.

Dr. McClatchie has successfully integrated the Pankey Institute philosophy of “Optimal Oral Health Care” into her own commitment to "Precision Dentistry/Compassionate Care". Every decision made by she and her staff is reflective of her commitment to these approaches to dentistry.

Dr. McClatchie, a general dentist, is trained in everything from the latest innovations in cosmetic dentistry, to full mouth rehabilitation, including bite analysis and TMJ therapy. She provides nearly every dental service required with the exception of orthodontics, surgical impactions and periodontal surgery. She has personally chosen her favorite specialists to refer you to if required.

Aside from the pride Dr. McClatchie takes in her work, her greatest pleasure in dentistry is hearing from patients who have historically had negative experiences with dentistry, how much they enjoy the rare balance of professionalism, comfort, results and even fun they experience in her office. Her listening skills, chair side manner, and fun-loving personality have positively influenced attention to dental health in hundreds of previously apprehensive patients, from children to seniors.
Professionally, Dr. McClatchie is a member of the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, the Columbus Dental Society, the Pankey Alumni Association, The Ohio State University Dental Alumni Association, and the Worthington, Ohio Chamber of Commerce.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. McClatchie is the proud mother of her sons Clayton and Adam, and is deeply involved in all of their many activities. Additionally, she exercises regularly, enjoys music, and is an avid gardener and die-hard Ohio State football fan.
