Biographical Information:
 ABOUT DR. PORTENOY……………… Dr. Portenoy is a 1985 graduate of the SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine where he received his D.D.S. with Thesis Honors in Behavioral Psychology. He is a SCHOLAR of the L.D. Pankey Institute for advanced Dental Education. The Pankey Institute is the leading center for post- graduate training of dentists and Dr. Portenoy is first of six dentists in the world to be awarded Scholar status, the institute’s highest honor. Dr. Portenoy teaches Prosthetics (crowns, bridges, implants, dentures) at the Nassau University Medical Center. He is a Teaching Assistant at the L.D. Pankey Institute for advanced Dental Education.He is a frequent lecturer to dentists in the New York area. He is a Board of Director of Nassau County Dental Society, a member of Nassau County Peer review (appointed by dentists to review other dentist’s treatments); Board of Director of the L.D. Pankey Foundation and a Board of director for the Rockville Centre Education Foundation. Dr. Portenoy is married and has three children. He is a resident of Rockville Centre.
