Dr. Ward graduated from the University of Maryland in 1991 and continued to teach there part time for several years. She has served on the Visiting Faculty of the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education since 1995, on its Board of Directors since 1993 and is currently serving as a Trustee. She is Past President of the Maryland Academy of General Dentistry and has also chaired national membership committee. She is in practice with Dr. Denny Byrne, her partner and husband for 25 years.

Dr. Ward has a concentration in adult orthodontics using clear braces and Invisalign to establish a beautiful healthy bite. Many times creating a functional bite through orthodontics gives you a beautiful esthetic smile with minimal dentistry.  

Denny and Nancy are very active within their church and community. Nancy has led several mission trips to Romania. Both Denny and Nancy are currently providing dental care in areas of need in Baltimore City. They are also committed to teaching other dentists in the dental community through local study groups and to teaching students at the University of Maryland Dental School. They have three children: Devon who is a dental student at the University of Maryland, Jed who is a Senior at Clemson University, and Lucy who is attending Bryn Mawr High School.
