Biographical Information:
PRACTICE EMPHASIS: Complex, multifaceted cosmetic and restorative dental procedures and techniques.
EDUCATION: B.S. in Chemistry with Honors, University of Georgia, Medical College of Georgia
ACHIEVEMENTS: One of only 7 dentist in the state of Georgia accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, Alumnus and Mentor of the Pankey Institute of Advanced Dental Education. Dr. Merriman was recently honored to have one of his cosmetic and complex restorative cases published in the Journal of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Merriman is the 2011 President of the Georgia Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
CONTINUING EDUCATION: A firm believer in contining education, Dr. Merriman is also a graduate of the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study and the Lousianna State University Esthetics Continuums I and II and continues to study with the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education and the San Francisco Institute for Advanced Dental Learnin. Dr. Merriman also serves as Visiting Faculty at Spear Education at the Scottsdale Center for Advanced Dentistry.
UNIQUE PRACTICE: Dr. Merriman's approach to cosmetic and restorative engineering consists of an initial consultation to understand the patients' needs and wants. Next, he creates a digital rendering of the teeth to show patient's their new look. Finally, a 3-D prototype is created by hand to ensure that objectives are met before the procedure begins.
OUT OF THE OFFICE: You will find Dr. Merriman and his wife Kerri at Marietta High School sporting events supporting their youngest daughter. Their oldest daughter is a senior at Vanderbilt and their son is a freshman at Ole Miss University. Dr. Merriman's pastimes include tennis, hiking, and trips with his wife and three children to the North Georgia mountains.
