Biographical Information:
Dr. Thacker was born in Washington D.C. but was raised in Key Biscayne, Florida, justa few blocks away from where the Pankey Institute now stands. He went to Florida State University in Tallahassee for his undergraduate studies, and to Emory University School of Dentistry in Atlanta, graduating with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1973. After two years in the U.S. Army Dental Corps and a brief time as an associate in a dental practice in Ft. Lauderdale, Dr. Thacker and his family settled in Tallahassee. Dr. Thacker is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association and the Leon County Dental Association. He also is a graduate of Leadership Tallahassee and has been a member of the Tallahassee Kiwanis Club for many years.
Dr. Thacker has been taking continuing education courses at the Pankey Institute since 1977. His practice philosophy is closely based on the ideals first set forth by Dr. Pankey and taught at the Institute.
Dr. Thacker and his wife, Janet, are actively involved members in their church (Evangelical Free Church of America) . He is currently an elder and also leads a home study group. They have two married children and five granddaughters. Dr. Thacker enjoys boating, fishing, and spending time with family.
