Biographical Information:
Dr. Santiago is a 1974 graduate of Tufts University and a 1979 graduate of the University of Connecticut, School of Dental Medicine. She did a Family Practice Residency at the same institution.
She owns a solo practice in general, cosmetic and laser dentistry in West Hartford, Connecticut, where she was raised. She comes from a staunch dental background – her father, brother and uncle are dentists and her mother a dental hygienist, all of which has inspired her to invest a great deal of her time and energy to continuing education and to working on behalf of her beloved profession. She has also been very active in her community, serving on various boards and committees. Most recently, she is very excited to be involved in the Connecticut Mission of Mercy Project as steering committee member and one of the restorative leads during the project.
Dr. Santiago is a fellow in the International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy (she is currently Chair of the Connecticut Section), and the American College of Dentists. Dr. Santiago is President-Elect of the NEACD. She is also a member of the AGD, AACD, Crown Council and ACEsthetics. She is a co-founder and member of an active Pankey Study Club – the Southern New England Pankey Study Club.
She is married to Rafael A. Santiago, a prominent corporate attorney in the Greater Hartford area, and is the mother of 4 sons, who are all grown up and almost out of the house! In her spare time, she loves to travel, garden, read, dance, cook and learn. She is fluent in Spanish and speaks some French and Hebrew.
